Introduced in the mid-’70s, the Eventide H910 Harmonizer was the first commercially available digital audio effects unit. Its unique analog/digital circuit generated iconic pitch change, delay, and modulation effects in previously impossible combinations — with a sound that’s prized to this day.
From sci-fi sound design to pop music landmarks from David Bowie and AC/DC, the Eventide H910 is an unmatched creative tool. Today, Eventide and Universal Audio proudly announce the Eventide H910 Harmonizer plug-in, an end-to-end circuit emulation of this legendary processor.
Get iconic Eventide H910 pitch change, delay, and modulation effects in real time
Thicken drums, guitars, and vocals with subtle and organic detuning
Craft hazy delays, slapback echoes, ambient textures, or drone feedback
Pitch audio +/- one octave without time compression or expansion — controllable from a MIDI keyboard
Use the H910's pitch changing ability to create specific musical intervals and musical harmonies
Harness presets from Richard Chycki, Tom Lord-Alge, Tony Platt and more
Take A Listen
Used and Abused since 1976
A powerful tool for creative producers and engineers alike, the Eventide H910 hardware excelled at straight-ahead guitar or vocal thickening, regenerative arpeggios, and bizarre sound design effects. On classics like David Bowie’s Low, and Iggy Pop’s The Idiot, producer Tony Visconti used the H910 to pitch down drum sounds, famously saying it, “f*cked with the fabric of time.” World’s away, AC/DC engineer Tony Platt put the H910 to slyly fatten up Back in Black’s iconic snare sound, while Eddie Van Halen used two H910’s for max spread on his 80’s guitar tones.
The Glitch is Back
The H910 introduced the word “glitch” into the audio engineer’s vocabulary. The H910’s pitch change relied on extensive analog processing. While simple, this circuit allows you to explore unique, unpredictable effects, never before emulated in a plug-in.
An End-to-End H910 Circuit Emulation
In developing this landmark processor for the UAD and Apollo platforms, Eventide modeled the H910’s entire analog/digital circuit, including its custom-built A/D converter. This allows the UAD H910 Harmonizer plug-in to retain the original hardware’s characteristic tone, as well as its dynamic responsiveness to input signals.
Keyboard and MIDI Mapping
The keyboard was an integral part of the H910’s original concept, and was later offered as an option. With the H910 plug-in, you can easily use MIDI to control pitch and harmonization in real time. But beware, one test drive of the H910 plug-in, and you’ll discover sounds that you can’t live without.
