Who is Olivier Rousteing?
Olivier Rousteing is a French fashion designer.
He is best known as being the head designer of French fashion house Balmain.
He was born in Bordeaux on September 13, 1985, and was adopted by his parents when he was one.
Rousteing's mother is an optician, while his father is a seaport manager.
He grew up in Bordeaux and moved toParisto study atESMOD(Ecole superieuredes arts et techniques de la mode) fashion school.
However, he dropped out after one year, citing a lack of creative freedom as his reasoning.
He joined Roberto Cavalli in 2003, and was quickly promoted to the head of the Italian label’s women’s ready-to-wear collection, where he served five years as creative director.
In 2020, Rousteing suffered horrific burns across his body after a fireplace exploded at his home.

His body was at one point engulfed in flames, and despite jumping into a swimming pool and showering with the view of extinguishing himself, he continued to suffer severe burning sensations all over his body.
He only revealed the incident and the injuries he suffered in October 2021 on Instagram, after hiding his injuries using specially designed costumes.
He was rushed to Saint-Louis hospital in Paris after the incident.

According to Out Magazine, the fashion house grew between 15% and 20% after Rousteing joined in 2011.
In 2019, a Netflix documentary called Wonder Boy followed Rousteing's career and his journey to find his biological mother.
He replaced fellow French fashion designer Christophe Decarnin.
