LIDL shoppers are raving about a pack of 65p biscuits that they say taste just like Lotus Biscoff.

Snack lovers say the cheaper Sondey Speculoos biscuits from the discounter are “very similar in taste” to the branded versions and are even “a little thicker”.

In a post on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one happy shopper said she was drawn to the treats because of the lower price.

A pack of 200g Sondey Speculoos costs 65p in Lidl, while 250g of Lotus Biscoff are priced at £1 on average in UK supermarkets, like these ones in Sainsbury's.

We've asked Lidl for the weight of its pack in comparison but on price alone you’ll be saving 35p per pack with lidl's version.

Shopper Rachel Wells, from Ramsgate in Kent, said: “If you’re a Lotus biscuit fan, these are from Lidl.

“Thought I’d give them a try for under a quid. These are very similar in taste and a little thicker.”

Other customers were in agreement and said the biscuits taste just as good as Lotus.

One person said: “They’re yum yum.” While another added: “These are lovely.”

But not everyone was impressed by the cheaper Lidl buy and said they’d be sticking to branded Lotus Biscoff.

One said: “These are not the same as Lotus biscuits – thicker and slightly different tasting.”

Someone else commented: “Sounds like that thing they use for smear tests.”

If you want to try the Lidl biscuits yourself, you'll need to visit your nearest store as we can't find them being sold on the website.

Lidl has around 600 shops in the UK and you can find your nearest one on its website.

The Sodey pack has 41 calories per biscuit plus 2.9g of sugar, which is fairly similar to Lotus.

Lotus Biscoffs contain 38 calories per biscuit and 3g of sugar.

Men shouldn't consume more than 2,500 calories a day, while it's 2,000 for women, according to NHS guidelines.

Meanwhile, men and women aren't suppose to have more than 30g of sugar daily.

In more biscuit news, Lotus Biscoff fans can get a year’s supply of biscuits for just £9 on Amazon.

While Lotus has launched Biscoff and Go pots in the UK and they only cost £1.
